Solar projects with a combined capacity of 665 MW won the tenders in Germany with a bid deadline of June 1, the Bundesnetzagentur announced today.

The first tender targeted ground-mounted solar farms bigger than 750 kW. It received bids for 1,130 MW, more than double the tendered volume of 510 MW. The Bundesnetzagentur, or Federal Network Agency, said 95 bids were successful with a total capacity of 513 MW.

The winning bidders will sell power at between EUR 0.0469 (USD 0.055) and EUR 0.0509 per kWh. The average volume-weighted award value arrived at EUR 0.05/kWh, down from EUR 0.0503/kWh in the previous solar tender.

A total of 233 MW of the awarded capacity will be built in Bavaria.

The Bundesnetzagentur also held the firts tender for solar systems installed on building or noise barriers, in which it awarded 152 MW. This tender too was oversubscribed, receiving 213 MW of bids for a tender volume of 150 MW. The awards range from EUR 0.0535 per kWh to EUR 0.0789 per kWh. The volume-weighted average value was EUR 0.0688/kWh.

The next normal tender round for solar parks is scheduled for November 1, 2021. A tender for solar systems on buildings and barriers is taking place on December 1, 2021.
